Description:
As part of our project Parks 4 All, we are recruiting Sensory Walk Guide volunteers. These volunteers will lead park walks that support people who may find parks difficult to use. We are recruiting Disabled people and unpaid carers to volunteer as the Guide.
The walks will help people to notice sounds, smells, movement, textures, colours, or simply enjoy being still. This walk is known as a Sensory walk.
What will you do:
• Help plan simple, accessible walk routes
• Welcome people and help them feel safe
• Guide small groups at a relaxed pace
• Talk to people about the walk and discuss how they can be
developed.
We are looking for people that:
• Identify as a Disabled person or an unpaid carer
• Enjoy being outdoors and in parks
• Are friendly and enjoy being with other people
• Like supporting people with different needs
• Interested in leading walks
• You will receive support and training for leading Sensory Walks.
