AmberLuna Apothecary: Free Herb + Scent Circle Launches This September, Nurturing Neurodivergent Connections, Curiosity and Community

Description:

This September, AmberLuna Apothecary is launching a new monthly Herbal + Scent Circle.

A gentle, welcoming space for people to come together, explore aromatic herbs, learn through the senses, and connect with like-minded others in an increasingly disconnected world.

The first gathering will take place at Boiling Wells, St Werburghs City Farm, Bristol on 30th September 2026.

Created by Medical Herbalist and Clinical Aromatherapist Ellen Rowland, the Herb + Scent Circle sprung from a desire to offer a slower, more human way of gathering; one that centres curiosity, sensory exploration and genuine connection rather than productivity or performance.

Drawing on the rich plant world, herbalism and aromatherapy, each session will feature a seasonal herb alongside, aromatic tastings, scent exploration, gentle learning, conversation and opportunities to meet others who share an interest in plants, wellbeing and nature.

While the circle explores wellbeing through herbs and scent, it is not a therapy group. Instead, it offers a mindful, lightly structured community space where people can show up as they are, engage at their own pace, and enjoy the experience of learning from plants and from one another.

The circle has been designed with Neurodivergent people in mind, and will suit neurodivergent adults seeking a calmer, less overwhelming way to meet others. Participants will be invited to engage through smell, taste, touch and conversation, with no pressure to socialise in any particular way. Quiet reflection and gentle participation are equally valued.

Ellen, who specialises in supporting late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults 1:1 through her medical herbalism clinical practice, said:

“So many people are craving meaningful connection but find modern social spaces exhausting, inaccessible or simply not quite right for them.

I wanted to create something softer: a place where people can gather around a shared interest, learn how medicinal plants can support them, and connect with nature through their senses.

I’m hoping to help foster community connections – without pressure or expectation. Community has always been at the heart of herbalism. People have long gathered around plants to share stories, knowledge and support each other. This Herb + Scent Circle is a small way of re-centering some of that spirit.”

Whilst the circle is not a targeted therapeutic service, sessions will be held sensitively by Ellen. She is a qualified Medical Herbalist and Clinical Aromatherapist, Enhanced DBS checked and experienced in creating safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces for diverse groups.

Bookings are now open for the September launch. Booking is required, as spaces are limited.

Ellen is welcoming contact from and partnership with groups or services who refer participants to gentle, social activities to improve their wellbeing.
